At Midtown Veterinary Hospital, keeping your cat or dog in great shape is our highest priority. The routine wellness examination is very important to your companion’s overall health. This exam gives us a chance to get to know your pet both medically and socially.
Just as no two pets are alike, no two examination programs are alike. The veterinarians at Midtown Veterinary Hospital will work with you to set up a regular schedule of visits for wellness exams.
- Office Visit—Midtown Veterinary Hospital schedules wellness examinations at least once a year. We will fully examine your pet from nose to tail, and we will address any health issues that may concern you. We will administer appropriate vaccinations once our veterinarians determine your pet is well enough to receive them.
- Blood Tests—Blood tests are conducted once a year depending on your pet’s health and age. We offer wellness bloodwork which offers the opportunity to check baseline bloodwork along with the annual fecal and heartworm checks recommended for all canines at a bundled rate. This way, in the event of an illness, we already have some baseline labwork to compare their findings to as well as allow us to evaluate our older patients at a time a disease process is not evident. (See "What is Bloodwork?")
- Oral Examination—We will examine your pet’s mouth and teeth at every regular appointment. If problems are noted, we will design a custom treatment plan to get your pet back to good chewing health.
With these regular examinations, Midtown Veterinary Hospital’s veterinarians are able to monitor your pet’s health. We will show you what health problems to look for and we’ll listen carefully to your questions and observations. Our team approach will help your pet have the best health and the best life possible.
